SmartRapCore Z-axis, 10mm rods
thingiverse
I Upgraded the Z-axis assembly from JetGuy Barry's Core XY Cube to accommodate use in a wooden box type machine like the SmartRapCore printers. The modified parts function perfectly and utilize a 20 x 20 mm aluminum corner extrusion to support the printbed. To facilitate installation, I've included some drilling templates that can be printed quickly to assist with aligning holes. In my setup, I drilled 2.5 mm holes and tapped threads using a 3 mm tap for easy attachment of the extrusions; however, drilling 3 mm holes and employing nuts instead would also work. The linear motion employs 10 mm rods, 4 LM10UU bearings, and a TR8x8 leadscrew with a TR8x8 nut.
