SmartrapCore new slideX (V. 3.2) for 6 & 8mm rods, with 2 optionnal fanducts
thingiverse
This is a revised version of my slideX for the SmartrapCore, designed initially for my wooden box printer but will also work well with the alu version, inspired by http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1001419 I created before… I have made several improvements to the new design, mainly focusing on cooling the hot end and the printing zone. The main body part of the slideX is compatible with both 6mm and 8mm rods; simply select the one that fits your setup best. You can choose from two different printing zone cooling systems: one designed for traditional fans, and another specifically for radial (turbine) fans. I recommend trying the latter; it may revolutionize your printing experience… Update (V.3.1b Dec 22 2015): due to some initial cooling issues, I redesigned the hot end fan and Zsensor support, as well as the bottom part of the radial fanduct; it's now easier to print. Update (V.3.2 Jan 25 2016): a new fanduct bottom part has been added, version 032b; it's smaller, simpler, and seems more effective than the previous one, making it a worthy replacement. Update (Feb 8 2016): I have introduced an additional radial fanduct bottom variant, 032d; it builds upon the 032b design with side deflectors to concentrate air flow on the printing zone while maintaining distance from the hottest hot end area; this has proven quite effective in my usage.
