SmartRapCore (+Alu) Flex3Drive extruder Mount
thingiverse
This is a mount to fit the smaller version of the excellent Flex3Drive extruder (http://mutley3d.com/Flex3Drive-1/) to a Smartrapcore printer (alu and wood versions). You'll need a direct drive extruder, but it adds only 85g to your print head. Be aware that the flex3drive is a part you must purchase separately. This mount was made by modifying the base of the Kossel mini version of Flex3Drive, which now forms the base of the extruder. I admit it's a bit quick and dirty, but it does work. If someone feels like taking on tidying it up and making it neater and less mashed up, I'd be extremely grateful for the help. I haven't included the clip that holds the hot end, as it's the same as the original Smart Rap Core part. Simply use your old one. Print Settings Just print it strong and accurately as possible. The mount to the print head will require a little support, but the Flex3Drive extruder base needs no support. Post-Printing Some screw holes might need drilling. A little removal of plastic around the nut traps on the underneath is also necessary. Use 2x M3x20 mm bolts to hold the extruder base to the hot end bracket. They should self-tap. If using 1.75mm, a short piece of bowden tube between the two parts helps guide the filament. Make sure this guide goes up into the Flex3Drive and stops just short of the drive pulley. With 3mm, it should be stiff enough for a filament guide not to be needed.
