The original design uses a GT2 belt for the Z axis on my SmartrapCore printer, which works great, but when printing stops abruptly, the print bed crashes down in an unforgiving manner. To address this issue, I've added two support arms that can effectively restrain a rubber band. When the print bed falls, it hits the top of the Z step motor before impacting anything solid. This is not just a "work in progress"; I use it on my SmartrapCore printer and can attest to its effectiveness. I updated the design's shape to match changes made to the printing plate support in the 1.2 version of the SmartrapCore printer, so make sure to download the corresponding STL file. As for users who have installed Andreas L.'s Z axis system for the SmartrapCore 1.2x, I recommend checking out a modified landing gear specifically designed for that setup on Thingiverse. Instructions: You'll need M3x20 bolts and nuts to secure the landing gear parts to the print bed support. This arrangement holds both the Z axis bearings firmly in place.
