Smartpot Throttle Pedal - Modern Plastic
grabcad
This modern drive-by-wire pedal is mounted on the floor and features a gear mechanism that rotates against the spring cap using a 32 pitch gear. The gear is held in place by a small spring, ensuring constant pressure. Made from mild steel, GFRP, and polypropylene or suitable alternatives, the assembly involves push-riveting to the floor through the large base. Materials include D shaft, spring shaft, mount plate (possibly aluminum), pot cap, pedal, gear, spring cap, and a nylon 6/6 small spring. The pot cap, pot spring, and spring cap are combined into the base with the D shaft; smartpot is welded to the mount base and fastened in place. The gear and small spring attach to the bottom of the pedal, while the large spring and spring shaft snap into the base. Finally, the front of the pedal fits over the lip on the base, closing and securing with a long pin and E-clip. Further testing may be required to determine resistance in the Smartpot and the appropriate spring size needed for the pot cap, possibly requiring a small tool during assembly. The design is similar to the Smartpot Throttle Pedal - Traditional Steel model.
