Smartphone Photo Studio for #3DBenchy and tiny stuff Remixed Large Parts
thingiverse
This is a work in progress, so please refer to the original file for more detailed information. To adapt it to a smaller build plate, I made some modifications to the larger parts. The name of the 3DBenchy title has been removed from all modified files, and they're connected using dovetail pieces. However, the phone holder remains unaltered as it prints on a diagonal and I was concerned about its compatibility with other pieces. Issues and notes: The split pieces are snug and might require some light tapping to fit together properly. It's recommended to avoid printing a brim for better results. There is a known height discrepancy between the male/female main pieces, but it's negligible in my opinion. If you'd like me to address this issue, I'll try to make adjustments accordingly. The modular rail is entirely optional and was included to allow for more space around the model and thus a larger photo area. I provided two versions of the rear male piece: one based on the original 3D Benchy design and another with an "Extended Height" modification. The latter gives more room for a camera hump, but it may not be enough for certain phone models. If I can improve the arm, I'll update the design later. Print Settings: Printer: MP Select Mini Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.15 Infill: 15 Notes: Supports are only necessary for the phone holder bar and turntable holder. For parts with dovetail cuts, it's suggested to print without a brim to minimize cleanup. Post-Printing: Double-check the dovetail connections and shave down any edges that need it for proper fit. Also, verify the heights and connection pieces of each part, as some may require shaving to ensure they connect correctly.
