I designed this holder so that my phone fits snugly into a designated slot within my car's dashboard, allowing for quick and secure mounting. This convenient gadget enables users to utilize their smartphone as a GPS navigator, music player, or simply access Android Auto without jeopardizing safety on the road. Please note that when printing this design, it is crucial to orientate the model as depicted in the Simplify3D screenshot, ensuring optimal layer orientation for maximum structural integrity. Printing it upright may compromise the part's stability, even though it might be tempting to print both components together to minimize support material and reduce print time. To firmly attach the mount to your car's dashboard, I recommend using 3M VHB tape, which is exceptionally strong and can be removed without causing any damage to the vehicle. In terms of materials, I chose PETG for this project due to its higher heat tolerance and reduced brittleness compared to PLA. While PLA could potentially work as well, especially if you plan to use it on a desk shelf, I believe PETG offers better overall performance.
