The Smartcore is the second project from Smartfriendz, following closely on the heels of the Smartrap and its distinctive all-printed structure. This new project brings a fresh approach: a CoreXY setup made affordable and easy to construct! You'll find everything you need to build one with ease, just like ordering some wood at your local store and printing out a few parts. The design is carefully crafted to minimize the need for heavy-duty operations on the box (no drilling or cutting required), allowing you to simply build the box, assemble the separate components, and integrate the Z and XY axes using simple wood screws. It appears to be expandable from 20x20 to around 50x50 cm, with further testing warranted. Notably, all our projects are licensed under GPL. What's more, the entire design is written entirely in OpenJSCAD, offering numerous options like NEMA size, rod size, printable size, and wood thickness. All models dynamically update based on parameters. Print plates are also automatically generated (nearly complete now). Enjoy exploring the many parameters at your disposal!
