Smartbox Case Latch

Smartbox Case Latch

thingiverse

Replacement latch for a Pelican-style case used by SmartBox for their key programming system. The actual brand, however, appears to be HUL, yet it lacks any identifying marks. It's worth noting that they also manufacture drone carrier boxes, making this part potentially useful for others. To remove the existing latch, drive out the metal pins with a pin punch, awl, or skinny screwdriver. A slightly open bench vise proves to be an ideal location for this task. Reverse the process by installing the new part. The vise is beneficial for driving the smaller pin back in, and I experienced no issues inserting it into the printed component. This replacement latch is designed with maximum strength in mind; additional supports will be necessary. While my fit was satisfactory, reprinting these parts might involve reducing their length by a millimeter or two to achieve a snugger fit. The only post-processing required was removing the infill.
