The SmartALU has a somewhat inadequate foundation, which can be addressed relatively quickly. https://youtu.be/fHlEnPQbIsw Requirements 1x Lead Screw, 8mm Diameter, 8mm travel per revolution is required. Additionally, you will need 1x Nema17 Stepper with at least 0.45Nm and a 1.8 degree rotation. Some m3 bolts, an m4 bolt, and T-nuts are also necessary. To install: First, drill a 10mm hole approximately 310mm from the edge of the current z-nut (315mm from the centre point). This hole should be outside your build area. Next, drill two additional holes to match the mounting specifications of the Z-nut you have. Mount the z-nut to the build plate. Then, loosely mount the Stepper onto the Bracket and attach the coupler to the stepper. Install the bracket with the stepper loosely so it can be adjusted along the 2020. Keep the stepper screws loose as well for fine adjustments. Lower the build plate until it touches the Coupler, then insert the lead-screw from above while positioning the stepper + bracket correctly. Finally, tighten the screws. Connect the Stepper in parallel with the rear z-stepper.
