Daily life for visually impaired individuals is made difficult by their inability to perceive certain obstacles like tree branches, fire extinguishers or side mirrors using conventional guide methods such as the white cane. This tool guides people with visual disabilities and helps them identify and detect objects in their path. However, the traditional white cane only allows them to detect objects below the waistline and leaves them exposed to overhead hazards that could cause injury. The goal was to design an affordable device that is easy to use and comfortable, adaptable to the standard white cane used by visually impaired individuals to help them detect obstacles of this type.
