Smart Watch Replacement Buckle
cults3d
The buckle on my girlfriend's cheap "smart" watch was already showing signs of rust when we got it, which meant its lifespan was severely shortened. This is a replacement for that buckle, one that I'm hoping will provide a more reliable and durable solution. Unfortunately, I don't have the model number of the watch this was designed for, nor do I know if it even had one. To make this usable by as many people as possible, I've included the FreeCAD FCStd file. With just a few modifications to the original sketch, you should be able to get the rest of the design up and running smoothly. Just double-check your work to ensure everything is in order. This buckle is designed specifically not to use a traditional spring-loaded pin or any standard part. Instead, it uses a larger paper clip as its foundation. To prepare the paper clip, push it through until you reach the desired length, then snip off each end with a small overhang on either side. Using a small hammer and an anvil, carefully mushroom the ends of the paper clip to secure them in place.
