Smart Power,
thingiverse
The primary feature of this unit is incredibly straightforward: it constantly monitors an internet connection and automatically powers up connected devices if the connection drops. This simple function can be extremely useful when your mobile broadband or cable/DSL connection goes down, allowing you to quickly reset the router to regain connectivity - all from a remote location, without anyone needing to physically visit the site and manually power cycle it. While this unit's main feature is incredibly simple and may be the only feature that most customers will use, it also includes several more advanced features: Web Interface: Enables users to monitor status, view logs, and adjust complex settings & configurations directly from a web browser. Power Scheduling: Up to 20 schedules can be set to turn power on/off for specific ports at specified times. Logs: Allows tracking of when the unit had to reset power, etc. Dynamic DNS Support & Remote Admin: Enables customers to log in via the web to access controls, view logs, and remotely turn power on/off for specific ports or reset power. GTalk Messenger Support: Sends notifications and allows users to issue commands to check status, as well as turn power on/off or power-cycle certain ports via GTalk. Advanced Network Configuration: Enables setting up a static IP address and using different DNS servers, as well as changing the HTTP web admin interface port. Save/Restore Configuration: Allows saving and easily restoring your configuration. This is useful for customers purchasing multiple units, as they can create a custom configuration file and apply it to all their units instead of manually configuring each one.
