You ever had your smart phone in your shirt pocket and you bent down to pick something from the floor? Then you surely encountered that your phone tends to fall down. Since I damaged my old smart phone that way, I decided to build a solution to protect my new phone. The result is my "shirt pocket smart phone clamp". Since I use it, my smart phone remains in its place, even if I bend down to grab something from the floor. How it works: The clamp body holds the phone by squeezing it in betweeen two movable jaws. The clamp body itself is held using a spring with barbed hooks inside the shirt pocket. To insert or release the smart phone you need to press the lower side of the clamp body to open the jaws and insert or release the phone. The thing consists of the follwing parts: The front plate with a 0.5 mm thick rubber layer on the inner top to hold the smart phone in its place. The rear plate, that holds the phone mechanically inside the shirt pocket. The clamp spring with barbed hooks that keeps the clamp body form moving out of the shirt pocket. The clamp can be squeezed together to adapt it to different pocket sizes. The wave shaped clamp spring that presses the front plate against the smart phone to have enough grip, so the rubber layer develops enough friction to hold the phone. A hinge wire of 1.5 mm diameter to join the front and the rear clamp body. The Clamp provided allowd a smart phone of maximum 75mm width and 8-9 mm thickness. This is suitable for my HTC U11 life or my Samsung S5 but the clamp is surely suitable for many more phones of a similar witdh and thickness. For phones with other dimensions the thing may be adapted to other sizes.
