Smart fortwo Ignition Knob

Smart fortwo Ignition Knob

I picked up this concept from an aluminum item sold in the UK. Pull your ignition key out of the key fob and insert it into this knob. The key can now remain in the car, and most people won't even notice that the key is in the ignition. Most importantly, as Smart owners are aware, the remote serves as the immobilizer. Even if someone attempts to start the car when you're not around, it won't turn on. You can still lock the car, and basically forget the key exists. Just unlock it, get in, and turn the knob. I set the tolerance based on my printer to be a semi-interference fit. No adhesive is required, there's enough friction to keep the key firmly in place. It's still removable with similar effort to removal from the factory key fob remote. If you want this made out of aluminum, visit this link for an example of a similar product sold in the UK: http://smartmods.co.uk/index.php?page=details&id=97
