The entire model of this sleek Smart car was crafted from roughly a dozen scans taken with Artec Ray's long-range 3D scanner from multiple angles all around the vehicle. We strategically kept ten spheres (from a Laser Scanner Reference Sphere Set) in the scanner's field of view while capturing, ensuring precise measurements. Additionally, we took two scans from directly below, with the car raised on a sturdy car lifter. To achieve optimal results, all glass surfaces and shiny components were lightly powdered with talc before scanning to minimize reflections. The raw data was then expertly processed in Geomagic Design X software, allowing us to align and triangulate the information seamlessly.
