Smart beacon for smart warehouse
thingiverse
This innovative smart beacon is a key component of the smart warehouse project, designed to stay securely attached to pallets with goods and provide clear visual cues for warehouse workers to identify which pallets are ready for shipment. Equipped with WiFi connectivity and direct access to warehouse system database data, this cutting-edge device ensures seamless integration with existing infrastructure. During testing, a single set of 4x AA batteries has proven sufficient to power the smart beacon for an impressive nearly four days straight, more than enough time to cover a standard shift without interruption. This remarkable battery life is a testament to the device's efficiency and reliability. At its core, this smart beacon is built around an ESP32 microcontroller paired with a vibrant WS2812 (Neopixel) ring display. To enhance its functionality, I've also added a temperature and humidity sensor, which happens to be a nice bonus feature. The design of the smart beacon is straightforward and easy to 3D print, with a transparent top cover made from filament that showcases its inner workings. For your convenience, a Fusion360 file has been included in the project files. Printed using a Prusa i3 MK3 3D printer, this smart beacon boasts a sturdy build with no support material required. With an infill density of 20% and layer thickness set to 0.2mm, it's a solid representation of modern 3D printing capabilities. The device is constructed from high-quality PLA filament in a sleek silver and transparent finish.
