SMARS V1
myminifactory
Here is a simple yet ingenious small modular robot called SMARS. I created it as an affordable and accessible way for beginners and robotics enthusiasts to start programming and designing pieces in CAD. SMARS is optimized specifically for 3D printing, requiring only minimal support structures and no screws for assembly. My goal was to keep it lightweight and inexpensive, giving everyone the opportunity to learn about robotics and STEM subjects. With a 3D printer and some basic components, you can build enough SMARS units for an entire class in just a few weeks at a low cost. The design avoids any special electronics, making it easy to find all the necessary parts almost anywhere. I launched the SMARS Project because as a child I would have loved to have something similar to learn and develop my skills. Unfortunately, 15 years ago robotics wasn't as accessible as it is today, so I never had my own robot. However, even now many people in poor countries still lack access to robots like this, which is why I want SMARS to help solve that problem.
