SMARS modular Robot
cults3d
SMARS, a clever acronym standing for "Screwless/Screwed Modular Assemblable Robotic System," is a simple yet effective robot designed with educational purposes in mind. Its standout features include a reduced component count, the ability to assemble without screws or soldering, and an affordable price tag. The modular design of SMARS allows users to swap out sensors and tools, making it easy to customize and upgrade the model. Future updates will introduce new modules and DLC (downloadable content) to enhance the system's capabilities. In the meantime, we invite you to share your own modifications and enhancements with the community. To get started with building the basic SMARS model, you'll need a few additional components: * Two mini 150RPM motors * One 9[V] battery * One 9[V] battery connector * An Arduino UNO board * An Adafruit Motor Shield V1 or V2 For those interested in assembling the screwed version of SMARS, you'll need two 25mm M4 screws and two self-locking nuts. Some helpful tips for building and customizing SMARS include: * Using multi-slip joint gripping pliers to insert the slave wheels * Cutting 1.75mm filament into small pieces for track joints * Exploring DLC options, such as the Quadpod mod, which will allow you to upgrade from tracks to legs SMARS is also compatible with other components, including: * Three AAA batteries (check the profile for downloadable content) * A PS3 controller 1800mAh 3.7V Li-Ion Battery (use at your own risk) For more information and tutorials on building SMARS, be sure to check out the video link provided.
