SMARS, short for Screwless/Screwed Modular Robotic System, is a straightforward robot designed specifically for educational purposes. The primary characteristics of SMARS include its minimal number of components and the ability to assemble it without screws or soldering any parts, eliminating the need for glue or similar adhesives. What's more, this system is remarkably affordable to construct. Another key aspect of SMARS is its modular design, allowing you to integrate different sensors and tools and even create your own custom parts. In the future, I plan to introduce new modules and DLC (Downloadable Content) on my Cults 3D page (https://goo.gl/xK9s1V), but it would be great if you could share your modifications as well. To build the basic model (utilizing "chassis-SL.stl"), you will only need a few extra components:- Two mini 150RPM motors, which can be purchased at https://amzn.to/2GAEoJl or http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/by2RFfHq- One 9[V] battery available at https://amzn.to/2A1NhG0 or http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/hEy2L3E- A 9[V] battery connector, which can be found at https://amzn.to/2A2eE2L or http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/jDzqDWY- One Arduino UNO, available for purchase at https://amzn.to/2QXwWvE or http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/Qc3oVvA- One Adafruit Motor Shield V1 or V2, which can be purchased at https://amzn.to/2QXWLvz or http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/ghtEQa8 (or at https://amzn.to/2QYkcVy and http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/bExt3Mv6) For the screwed version ("chassis-S.stl"), you will only need two 25mm M4 screws and two self-locking nuts. TIPS: The joints of the tracks are simply pieces of 1.75mm filament cut to the correct length. To assemble the screwless version, you will require a multi slip-joint gripping plier to insert the "slave wheels." One upcoming DLC (Downloadable Content) will be the Quadpod mod, which will allow you to transition from tracks to legs; however, please note that this requires the screwed version ("chassis-S.stl") and not the screwless version ("chassis-SL.stl"). Building instructions can be found in the "doc lite" folder. These models are also compatible with:- Three AAA batteries (check my profile for the corresponding DLC)- One PS3 controller 1800mAh 3.7V Li-Ion Battery; however, please exercise caution when using this and ensure you know what you're doing! https://amzn.to/2GAEoJl
