Smaller Ballistic, Pneumatic, Rock-ette
thingiverse
We aimed to test a smaller alternative to our original, joined quad-fin ballistic design by printing rockets with no support required. This rocket is designed for launch from an 8mm launcher and has walls that are almost twice as thick (4mm) to allow higher pressure at 100% infill. We achieved about one foot of distance per PSI, but your results may vary. Please use this information at your own risk. The finless "Mark V" version is also included, offering less drag weight and higher pressure, but at the cost of ballistic performance. After printing, use a 5/16" drill bit to ensure a tight fit over the 8mm OD pen-tube for a smooth launch with a delightful pop. Our updated wing design features three fins instead of four, promising more "ballistically" successful test flights. Use caution when launching this rocket: do not fire it at others or in populated areas. Wear safety gear, including head and eye protection, gloves, and other necessary equipment. Pneumatic rocketry is extremely hazardous, so use common sense when testing. Watch from a safe distance, preferably from within a car with the launcher elevated several feet higher than you are. Tumble recovery means this projectile can come down on someone's head, so be warned! If you're interested in creative desk toys, check out https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3808419.
