This is a model of an Ugrinsky rotor for the balcony. Initially, I experimented with various modifications. Upon discovering how effectively this design performs, I decided to construct my own rotor. (diameter = 160 mm, height = 200 mm) It had to be two-coloured so that you could see from a distance just how strong the wind was blowing. And it should generate electricity! The rotor's design is stackable, which means you can attach as many wings on top of each other as desired. Eventually, you will need a mounting at the top end of the axle. Built, printed - two wing segments stacked - everything functions perfectly. After half a year of successful operation, I've noticed that you can't determine from which direction the wind is blowing, only how much. Therefore I added this somewhat unsightly plastic flag - of course two-coloured! Now you can see just how much wind comes from where! Unfortunately there's no sense in generating electricity here in the city, the rotor is too small and the wind is too weak. Perhaps you live somewhere with more wind - perhaps in the North Atlantic . . ? To print the parts you will need a 6 mm thick aluminum rod, two ball bearings 6mm x 13 x 5mm, (a thin belt + a small motor, thin wire - if you want electricity) and a base plate where you can place e.g. stones, so the whole thing won't fly away.
