This water pump is driven by a 550-size brushed DC motor and designed for use as an emergency pump on RC boats, but can also be utilized for various other purposes. It has impressive water flow capabilities of approximately 1.5 gallons per minute at 6000 rotations per minute, with the potential to handle twice that amount. However, handling this fast centrifugal pump requires caution as it can inflict injuries; the creator assumes no responsibility for any misuse or mishandling of the product. A note on the impeller states that it has been updated since the picture was taken, and now flows more water. The necessary non-printed components include a 550-size motor, two M3x8mm hex-head screws, four M3x30mm hex-head screws, a Dubro brass collar with a 1/8" internal diameter, and 30mm of 5/16" (8mm) brass tubing. The provided STL file consists of three parts: the motor mount plate, pump body, and impeller. It is recommended to print these parts in ABS material. After printing, drill all through-holes with a 3mm or 1/8" drill bit and countersink two holes on the mount plate with a 7mm or 1/4" drill bit by hand. Attach the motor to the mount plate using M3x8mm screws, and ensure a tight fit of the brass tubing in the pump's hole before setting it aside. Next, fettle the impeller's bore with a 1/8" (3.2mm) drill bit and its larger end with a 5/16"(8mm) drill bit, leaving space for the brass collar that engages the motor shaft. Create notches on the circumference of the collar using a Dremel cutoff wheel. Prepare an ABS/Acetone slurry with a consistency slightly less solid than toothpaste, and apply it to the outside of the brass tubing as well as the large bore in the impeller. Push the tubing into the pump body and insert the collar onto the impeller's bore, ensuring that the setscrew is secure. Allow the slurry to harden overnight before proceeding. The next day, carefully drill out the setscrew borehole, remove the setscrew, and chase the bore with a 1/8" (3.2mm) drill bit by hand. Fit the impeller onto the motor shaft, tighten the setscrew to engage the shaft's flat, and attach the motor-impeller assembly to the pump body using the M3x30mm screws. Connect the motor to your desired battery (within specified limits) and test the water pump functionality. Remember to exercise caution when handling this fast centrifugal pump, as it can cause injuries if not used properly.
