This compact pump was engineered for operation in RC combat model warships, but I'm also utilizing it in an automated garden irrigation system, and I envision numerous other applications for a small pump. I opted for stainless steel hardware; the added cost is negligible, and it aligns with its design objective of being submerged in fresh water regularly. The pump itself will function properly in saltwater environments, but the motor may short circuit due to sodium and chloride ions present in the water. Some minor adjustments may be necessary around the rim of the impeller for a smooth fit into the pump; this is an ongoing project, and I'm refining the impeller size to ensure a seamless fit with minimal adjustments. Furthermore, the recess for the brass collar on the impeller should be cleaned up using a drill bit before applying an ABS/acetone slurry to bond the collar to the impeller. I strongly advise installing the collar without the set screw initially, then drilling (using a handheld drill bit) from the side to access the set screw hole. The brass tube should be inserted into the discharge opening and secured with either slurry or CA glue.
