Small Tesla Turbine

This is a small tesla turbine I designed while here at Boston University. After this model was created, I built the turbine from the ground up, using old hard drive discs as the runners within the turbine. With exception to the outer plexi casing which was done with a 3 axis CNC, everything else was fabricated by hand with a mill and a lathe. What aren't included in the SolidWorks drawings are the two compressed air inlets which were lathed, knurled, tapped and welded onto the side. When it was all said and done, with around 80 lbs compressed air this baby reached 10k rpms! High ang. velocity, but little torque. Simple and fun project!
