The Dragonfly class, designated as a class of small torpedo speed boats for the People's Navy of East Germany with project number 131.400, consisted of thirty operational units and four prototypes. These boats were equipped with two permanently installed 533 mm torpedo tubes parallel to their keel, which could not be reloaded onboard during an attack. When launched, the torpedoes would drop aft and follow the path of the launching boat. Typically, they were Soviet-designed 53-39 PM steam-powered torpedoes. For air defense, a double-barreled 23 mm gun was installed at the rear of each vessel. The Dragonfly class ships were manufactured at the Peene shipyard and Rechlin facility. Their operational service spanned from 1974 to 1990. Key Specifications: * Displacement: Normal - 30 t; Maximum - 35.17 t * Length: 18.96 m * Beam: 4.42 m * Draft: 1.74 m when the propeller was in use * Crew: Five personnel Propulsion: The Dragonfly class vessels were equipped with three M-50F diesel engines, each delivering 880 kW (1200 PS). This enabled them to reach a maximum speed of 48 knots and travel up to 300 nautical miles at 37 knots. Armament: Each Dragonfly vessel was armed with two 533 mm torpedo tubes, two marine exhaust pipes, and one double-barreled 23mm L/80 DL2V23 gun.
