In my initial 3D scanning project, I utilized the Makerbot 3D Digitizer to scan a cardboard skull. This was a single-scan procedure; a multi-scan would have been more suitable for an object with a top flat spot. To smooth it out, I used fine sandpaper and plan to create skull ice cube trays using this as a base.
