Small & Simple Tesla Model 3 Phone Mount

Small & Simple Tesla Model 3 Phone Mount

I tested several mounting options for my Model 3, including magnetic mounts near the touchscreen, but I was looking for a simple design that would fit behind the steering wheel. That's when I discovered this sleek clip on Thingiverse and had an idea to create an improved version. This new design is more compact and flat, making it quick and easy to print. It also takes up less space in the center console, which is a major plus. I chose to print mine with flex filament, which has 15% infill, for its higher grip and ability to stretch without leaving scratches or breaking. Other materials like PETG or PLA could work too, but you might need to experiment with infill and wall thickness to get the right amount of flexibility. Keep in mind that a PLA or Flex version won't be able to stay on the dash during hot summer months due to its low heat resistance. The design is intended for my 5.5" phone, but it should also fit phones of 5" or 6" screens, depending on your material's flexibility. If you have any ideas for improvements, feel free to share them in the comments below. Enjoy!
