A Self-Sustaining Fish Feeder. This device can sustain our goldfish for up to 8 days. Powered by an Arduino microcontroller, it utilizes a SG-90 servo motor. The drinking straw, cut into sections, serves as compartments for the fish food. The zip file contains the Arduino source code. To activate, simply turn on the feeder and fill each compartment with food. Upon startup, the servo will jerk slightly due to its initial movement. Feeding intervals occur every 24 hours after the previous feeding cycle. Set the feeder angle so that it dispenses only one compartment at a time. Update: June 6, 2015 The Arduino code has been revised to prevent the servos from detaching prematurely, causing noise. Additionally, an image of the food loader made from a straw is now included. Update: July 12, 2014 This device is now compatible with the widely used SG-90 servo motor. Furthermore, the Arduino code has been updated to detach the servos when not in use, resulting in reduced noise. This modification also enables the chaining of two feeders, increasing feeding duration up to 8 days.
