Small Side Font
thingiverse
A full-fledged font was created from most of the letters used during "The Saturday Killer" project (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:12592). This font is specifically designed for two-color printing, utilizing layer thickness (pathT) and extrusion width (pathW) to create small texts. The included characters consist of capital letters, numbers, and basic punctuation marks. These letters can be created individually using functions like a(), b(), etc., or through the provided writeText and rotateText modules. Additionally, there's a helpful spreadsheet that generates OpenSCAD code for creating the letters. To simplify skeining, it is recommended to place a cube behind the text. An Oct19 update fixed construction issues and introduced new text-creation modules - writeText and rotateText. These modules allow adjusting horizontal offsets for each letter, resolving the issue of unequal spacing for thin letters like "I". A code-creation spreadsheet is also provided to generate OpenSCAD code by inputting words and a few parameters. The font was completed with Oct25 update, including numbers and simple punctuation marks, removing the "Work in Progress" status. Future developments may involve lowercase letters and more punctuation marks in a derivative font.
