A custom form-fitted box project for a component includes sharing the outer box design, featuring unequal depth on the top and bottom for improved part placement and handling. The box has a snap-together hinge at the rear and a front latch. Future enhancements may include nested lips for better sealing. Dimensions are yet to be finalized, with test prints expected in a month after assembling a Makerbot kit. A second top version is introduced with print-friendly small notches instead of holes. To assemble, print the top and bottom pieces, then snap them together at the back hinge.
