Proteans are gargantuan amoeba-like beings, brought to The Pit for rigorous experimentation. Releasing an incredibly corrosive acid, they can effortlessly dissolve even the toughest weapons and armor. Proving notoriously difficult to control, some eventually broke free, and have become a constant threat to anyone within The Pit.
