Small Printer Clearance Test

thingiverse

I created a custom clearance reminder for my designs, wanting something compact and portable. Since there are many similar models on Thingiverse, I decided to design my own, which also included a storage area for the control rod. The holes in my model start at the lower right corner with the exact size of the control rod, then each set increases by 0.1mm as you move up. I deliberately omitted the ones digit so it can be used regardless of control rod size. The control rod is currently based on 3mm, but you can easily scale both parts and all three axes to a 6mm rod by multiplying by two. Printing at full size is just barely possible, but it does print and the text remains readable when swapping filament colors for the final layers. If scaled up, the text becomes even more legible. I encountered an issue with the bottom of the control rod flaring out, affecting accuracy, despite trying rafts, brims, and adjustments. To solve this, I added a special base to the control rod. There will be a small gap between the riser and the control rod proper; simply cut off the lower portion with a razor knife for accurate results. --- **Note:** Due to either a Thingiverse bug or shadowbanning, my models no longer appear in the Newest listings. To see more of my work, please follow me. If you print this design, it would greatly help if you post a Make so others can find and use it.
