Small Pet Door Wall Frame

This part enables easy installation of the small "Ideal Pet Products Original Pet Door" directly into a wall instead of a door frame. The high-quality Ideal Pet door features a vinyl flap and secure lock-out slide, typically priced at $14 from various retailers. Out of the box, the pet door telescopes to 2 inches in width; however, this attachment extends its range to approximately 6 to 7 inches, providing greater flexibility. We have placed our cat's litter box in the garage, and this attachment allows him to move freely between the house and the garage. (Note that the crate containing the litter box prevents our cat from escaping into the house when the garage door is opened.) The pet door can be adjusted a few inches to fit your wall's depth, but if additional adjustment is necessary, you can stretch the frame length using most 3D modeling software. I've also included a SketchUp file for more complex adjustments.
