Small Overhead Lampshade

Small Overhead Lampshade

This is a small overhead lampshade designed to fully cover the lightbulb while still leaving a good amount of clearance below -- where mine is located, there is a door beneath without enough room for a larger cover.

The lampshade consists of two pieces -- the threads which go on first and are held in place as you screw in the lightbulb, and the lampshade itself which screws onto the threads.

If you over-tighten the lampshade onto its threads, you may have difficulty removing it as the threads can start to spin freely beneath the lightbulb. To fix this, either (1) unscrew the lightbulb along with the lampshade, (2) use a screwdriver to hold the threads in place as you unscrew the lampshade, or (3) use the alternate version of the threads with the grip pattern around the edges.

Obviously, it works best with translucent filament. :)

WARNING: Use only with bulbs that will not get hot! I am currently using it with a small CFL, and the cover gets warm, but not enough to deform or be a fire hazard. Ideally, use an LED bulb.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

RepRap

Printer:

Prusa i3

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.3

Infill:

100

Notes:

Obviously, it works best with translucent filament. :)

Category: Household
