Small Overhead Lampshade
thingiverse
This is a compact overhead lampshade designed to cover the lightbulb completely while leaving ample clearance below -- in my case, there's a door beneath that doesn't have enough space for a larger cover. The lampshade consists of two parts -- the threads which are attached first and held securely as you screw in the lightbulb, and the lampshade itself which screws onto the threads. If you over-tighten the lampshade onto its threads, it may be challenging to remove it since the threads can start spinning freely beneath the lightbulb. To resolve this issue, either (1) unscrew the lightbulb along with the lampshade, (2) use a screwdriver to hold the threads in place as you unscrew the lampshade, or (3) opt for the alternate version of the threads featuring a grip pattern around the edges. It's clear that it works best with translucent filament. WARNING: Use only with bulbs that won't get hot! I'm currently using it with a small CFL, and the cover gets warm but not enough to deform or pose a fire hazard. Ideally, use an LED bulb.
