Small Outdoor Faucet key handle
thingiverse
I constantly misplace my outdoor faucet handles. Despite being readily available for purchase, I never seem to find one when I need it most. A straightforward solution is to simply print multiple at once and store them in the faucets. There are numerous faucet handle designs already available for printing, but I wanted one that was compact, visually appealing, and could be printed using PLA. The majority of existing designs resemble copies of commercially sold keys. These typically require ABS for printing since they're too thin to withstand any pressure when made with PLA. The common type of key used for outdoor faucets in my area (Sweden) appears to be called 8mm, yet the square taps in the faucets are actually slightly smaller (7.5mm). I'm unsure why this discrepancy exists; I simply created a handle that fits my specific faucets. For optimal performance, the handle should be dense and snugly fitting since it must remain securely in place and withstand minor force. I printed mine with a 0.2 mm layer height and 75% infill density. As usual, you might need to adjust the scaling for a snug fit, but my printer's precise calibration enables perfect dimensions.
