Small Limit Switch Mount
thingiverse
This will mount a small microswitch next to any standard 2020 extrusion, Openbuilds, or MakerSlide. The microswitch is recessed into the extrusion's slot, making it very low-profile. It comes with a small wiring duct, allowing wires from the side of the mount to pass down underneath where they can reach the switch terminals. There's space for 2 wires, roughly 1mm diameter each. This is designed as a Limit Switch / Endstop / Homing Switch. Currently, it's being used on an X-Carve. They were made compact so that the microswitch could be placed at the very ends of the extrusion without limiting travel capacity. The "sub-miniature" microswitches they're designed for are small, roughly 12.7mm x 5.8mm (rated for 125v 2a). They fit snugly enough to use as-is, but it's recommended to superglue them in, considering they're important end-stops. It includes a 5mm chamfered hole for a low-profile / flat head M5 machine screw. To print this, Cura with the Experimental Tree Supports was used. Issues arose with the supports not sticking to the bed, so a 4mm brim was used, including on the inside, which kept the support firmly in place (uncheck "Brim Only on Outside" under Build Plate Adhesion).
