The standard spool holder that comes with the Prusa i3 MK3 fails to accommodate spools featuring narrow or small holes in their centers. You can easily replace one or both of the original holder spigots with this custom design, thereby enabling the use of spools boasting tiny holes similar to those found on the Sainsmart TPU filament. Spools sporting holes as diminutive as 28 in diameter are now perfectly suitable for utilization with this revised setup. When printing these modified spigots, be sure to create two of them and adjust the infill to approximately 70% specifically for the lugs. This increased solidity will ensure a secure connection between the new spigot and the main piece as it twists into place. Make certain that both lags are fully inserted within the main component. In my experience, PLA has proven suitable for this project; however, ABS might ultimately prove to be an even more ideal choice due to its potential advantages in terms of durability.
