Using a smaller spool holder is a simpler solution than upgrading to a larger diameter filament spool. This compact holder can accommodate spools as small as 1.25 inches and features a retention mechanism for added security. It's specifically designed as a quick replacement for standard Makerbot spool holders, versions 2 and 2X. The second file includes an anchor that allows you to keep the spool holder securely attached to your machine, preventing it from getting misplaced. To utilize this attachment, one of the back door mounting screws needs to be replaced with a longer screw (6MM x 12MM socket head). The anchor's detent ensures that the spool holder remains firmly in place and does not detach easily.
