Small Guitar Hook

Small Guitar Hook

thingiverse

I have a nice three-string Loog guitar. The neck is pretty small, so I designed and printed my own wall hook for it. My main goal was to make a wall hook for my guitar that would keep all parts of the guitar from rubbing against the wall, while being strong enough for me to trust it. I didn't want "explosive delamination" to send my guitar to the floor. I used Fusion 360 to design and print this wall hook, but my experience with 3D printing has been mostly with OpenSCAD before this project. My static load test showed that the hook can withstand three times the weight of my guitar without any visible deformation. I included a photo of my test setup so you can see it for yourself. I took a few CAD classes in college, but designing and testing my own wall hooks was still a new experience for me. This is my first project using Fusion 360, and I learned a lot from it. I wrote more about this project at my blog, Feels Like Burning.
