Small Floating Bookshelf

Small Floating Bookshelf

thingiverse

I'm designing a compact floating bookshelf to solve the common problem of cluttered desks due to misplaced journals and reading materials. To tackle this issue, I combined problem-solving skills with an idea and quickly modeled it in Fusion 360. With minimal time invested, my solution was taking shape. The shelf is secured to the wall using three 3-pound command strips, ensuring a stable hold without excessive weight burden. Since it's designed for a couple of books only, there won't be any capacity issues. However, if I were to design it for more items, there wouldn't have been enough space on my print bed. Printing this design at 0.3 mm resolution took approximately eight hours on my Monoprice MakerSelect. Keep in mind that printing times may vary based on your settings. For optimal results, I recommend orienting the open rectangular face downwards during printing to avoid supports and achieve a smooth finish.
