Small filament spool carousel
thingiverse
Round and round spins the filament until it's empty, then it crashes. A mechanical warning noise is added for safety: build a stack of spools on top and wait. This printer can be built in under an hour using only one 51104 axial bearing (20 x 35 x 10 mm), which costs less than two euros. The printer fits spools with inner diameters between 40mm and 60mm. Printing it at 0.25 or 0.3 mm layers will create visible steps on the outside cone of the print. If the 51104 bearing doesn't snap into place, hot glue can be used to secure it. This printer has been in use since August 2016.
