Human: Small End Blade. XCB-105-2964. 400 BCE-100 CE XCB-105 Adamagan, the Aleut name for a place of walrus hunters, is situated at the head of Morzhovoi Bay on the western Alaska Peninsula. The massive village boasts multiple occupations and was occupied from 400 BCE to 100 CE, making it the largest village in the Arctic with an estimated population of 1,000 people. Limited occupations have also been dated to 2,200-1,700 BCE, 1,000-600 BCE, and 900-1,100 CE. Western Alaska Peninsula artifacts are presented as a result of research conducted under grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner serves as Principal Investigator for the project. The artifacts were scanned using either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i. Processed in Geomagic or Polyworks, with 2-8 photos used to create texture in Geomagic Wrap. Original digitizing work was completed at the IVL at Id. St. Univ., while subsequent processing and publication were done at Global Digital Heritage.
