Small Electronics Enclosure
grabcad
A 2D laser-cut acrylic enclosure was fabricated for hardware testing purposes, owing to its cost-effectiveness when compared to molding and tooling. The structure features tamper-proof torx cap screws connecting to threaded spacer pins that align the plies. Inside, it houses a custom PCB, speaker, buttons, LED light pipe, and a 4 AA battery holder. Fastening the battery cover at the base is done with Phillips head pan screws and captive nuts inside the stack-up. The top ply secures the speaker via tapered recess. To ensure optimal speaker function and minimize weight, void volume was maintained adequately while reducing excess material.
