Description: =========== This is a small antenna junction box to enclose the connections between the coax SO-239 socket and external terminals. This box is not big enough for any balun or autotransformer, so is most useful for tuned dipoles. The box is approximately 32mm x 32mm x 50mm, or 1.25" x 1.25" x 2.0". There are a few variant STL files that include two options. * Terminal holes. These holes are 4.5mm (or #8 screw) to accomodate a through-bolt for attaching antenna elements with wingnuts if desired. If you do not want these holes, you can drill your own. * Mounting tab. This tab extends across the back edge of the box, and includes three holes for zip-tying to a line if desired. Files and what they are: =================== * antbox-holes-tab.stl - box with terminal holes and hanging tab * antbox-holes.stl - box with terminal holes * antbox-tab.stl - box with hanging tab * antbox.stl - box, no holes or tab * antbox-lid.stl - the lid/cover for the box All box variants include the holes for the SO-239 socket, which can be mounted internally or externally. How to Print ========== You need to print a cover, so include antbox-lid.stl with your print. Second, choose from the other antbox*.stl files to choose the options you want. One option I changed in my printer is the number of walls to print. Since this box has thin walls (2.4mm) and my nozzle is 0.4mm, I set my number of walls to 4, which causes the printer to essentially print the box walls at 100% fill. Adjust your wall count for your nozzle width if you want to do this. Finally, you'll notice the cover does not have holes for screws. That's easy enough for anybody to modify themselves, or leave it alone and use adhesive like silicone sealer to seal the box. Enjoy! Brent
