Small Desk Ornaments

The Mini Translucent Snowflake Ornaments, made from natural ABS, are smaller versions of the popular Thing:37006 Translucent Snowflake Ornament. Sized at 40mm in diameter, they fit perfectly over an affordable LED tea light or on a rotating LED turntable. The upper left image demonstrates an ornament placed on a tea light. There are two versions available: Ornament_Xmas_2012.stl, featuring 'Xmas 2012' on top and three different snowflakes on the sides; and Desk_Ornament.stl, which boasts a pattern based on plane group p6, a Sierpinski triangle, and another pattern from the p4m plane group. Capturing these ornaments in a photo can be challenging, but one example at the upper left is a composite of Ornament_Xmas_2012's faces illuminated by a blue LED. Printing time for these ornaments is less than an hour and they print best directly on the build platform with one shell and 5% infill. The desk light shines most brilliantly when paired with a bright blue LED, but any tea light works in dimly lit areas. Desk_Ornament.scad generates these ornaments and requires two include files: Patterns.scad and ArchitectsDaughter.scad. Despite generating error messages during execution, the latter file is one of Polymaker's fonts, which can be disregarded (thing:13677).
