Small 2-piece Filament Spool

Small 2-piece Filament Spool

Decided to make a few tweaks: Trimmed down the entire spool by 2mm on all sides to reduce plastic usage and added filament anchors along both inner and outer edges. There are now three anchors on the inner edge at different angles for more options, and five outer rim anchors for securing loose ends. The thinner walls also allow you to use various filament clips if desired. I've uploaded new files called "Small Holey Spools." I'm not removing the originals because diversity is awesome. This smaller spool in two pieces screws together for winding small quantities of filament, leftovers, or samples. It's been a lifesaver for my MakerBox filament samples and leftover winding. This design is a quick remix of tamel55's "small spool," which I found incredibly useful but had issues slicing due to hollow threads on the male side. I solved this by importing the model into Tinkercad, thickening the inner surface by about 1mm all around, and it sliced perfectly. All credit for this elegant design goes to tamel55. The bi-color print was an accident; I ran out of blue and used a purple box instead, which turns out is actually light magenta in China. Print Settings: Printer: Monoprice Maker Select i3 v2.1 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.25mm Infill: 50% Rectilinear (Simplify3D) Notes: Printed at 200C with a 60C bed using Hatchbox standard PLA, 3 outer shells with 50% rectilinear infill. Next time, I'll print four shells and reduce the infill to 20-30%.
