Sluggawn Bridge stands tall, an early 19th century icon registered proudly in the Northern Ireland Industrial Heritage records (IHR No. 02233:000:00). This historic structure expertly carries the Deerpark Road, connecting Toomebridge and Bellaghy in Co Londonderry, safely over a small stream that flows into Lough Beg. The bridge's presence on the map was first documented on the 1st Edition OS 6” map of 1832. A cutting-edge model of Sluggawn Bridge has been meticulously created from a high-resolution 3D laser scan survey conducted with state-of-the-art technology, including a Leica C10. The resulting 3D mesh model boasts vibrant colour mapping and serves as an invaluable tool for recording the bridge's intricacies alongside traditional 2D drawings.
