Slug Barrier

The slug barrier comprises a three-part system to protect your vegetables from bug infestation, primarily slugs. The main component is the trough which can be filled with salt or beer. Slugs are deterred by salt due to dehydration upon contact, while beer attracts them and causes drowning. The "Hanover Slug Fence" prevents climbing and water entry into the trough. Finally, spikes act as a cutting agent, though in the finished product, they would be more like mesh wire. While I think the trough may suffice, other elements have been included to enhance effectiveness. At this stage, it's all theoretical; prototyping is yet to begin.
